Noct School

In our studio, education is more than the transmission of knowledge—it's a vital method for developing critical thinking. It allows us to question assumptions, examine our own practice with clarity, and remain open to new ways of seeing and making. This belief forms the foundation of our Architectural Night School.

We see education as a shared process of inquiry—one that invites the public and local communities to engage with architecture not just as a profession, but as a way of understanding the world. Through the lens of craftsmanship, material experimentation, and spatial awareness, we offer opportunities to cultivate the skills of close observation and critical reflection.

Our aim is to make architectural thinking accessible and relevant—beyond institutional or professional boundaries. Through workshops, discussions, and collaborative learning, participants are encouraged to explore how spaces are made, how they affect us, and how we might shape them more ethically and responsibly.

We believe in an education that nurtures not only skills, but values—empathy, care, and a deep respect for the knowledge embedded in materials and hands-on making. In doing so, our night school serves as a platform for ongoing learning, community engagement, and the co-creation of new architectural imaginaries.

Mission

The mission of the Architectural Night School is to use architecture as a framework for cultivating critical thinking, ethical awareness, and material understanding across diverse communities. Rooted in the values of craftsmanship, care, and collective inquiry, the school seeks to democratize architectural education by creating open, accessible learning environments that encourage reflection, dialogue, and hands-on experimentation.

Through workshops, lectures, and collaborative projects, we aim to foster a culture of learning that goes beyond technical skills—nurturing the ability to question, observe, and imagine new ways of living and building together.

Vision

In light of the upcoming ARB education reforms set to take effect in December 2027—which aim to introduce more flexible, diverse routes into architectural practice—the Architectural Night School positions itself as an inclusive platform for emerging talent. We envision the school as a space for individuals who may not come from traditional architectural pathways but possess the passion, curiosity, and creative drive to pursue architecture at Part 2 level and beyond.

Our vision is to democratize access to architectural education by offering alternative routes to learning that emphasize critical thinking, craftsmanship, spatial understanding, and socio-ethical awareness. By doing so, we support aspiring architects in building strong foundational skills and confidence, regardless of their academic or professional background.

The school also operates as a fertile ground for cross-disciplinary collaboration—bringing together individuals from fields such as design, art, engineering, carpentry, performance, and writing. Through shared inquiry and making, we explore architecture as a pluralistic practice—one that thrives on exchange, dialogue, and experimentation.
